Getting the most out of it
How long does it actually last?
Around four weeks in a coupe, sedan, hatch or ute.
Servo fresheners dump all their scent at once. Strong on day one, gone a couple of days later, and you're back buying another. Ours releases gradually instead. Scent runs hardest through the first two to three weeks, then eases back rather than dropping away, and you can take the lid off and give the gel a gentle shake to reactivate it.
Vans and larger SUVs have more air to fill, so expect a little less from a single jar.
Where should I put it?
Front of the cabin, somewhere air actually moves. Centre cup holders or near a vent is where it performs best in most cars.
Where it won't work: centre console storage, deep door pockets, the parcel shelf. No airflow, nothing to carry the scent. Every cabin is different, so try two or three spots and find where yours sings.
I can't smell it anymore. What's going on?
Sometimes it can be olfactory fatigue. Your brain filters out constant background scent within minutes, which is why passengers still comment on it long after you've stopped noticing.
Also trying working through these:
Placement. Tucked away with no airflow, it can't reach you. Move it to the front where air circulates.
Scent choice. Our subtler scents sit further in the background by design. If you want more presence, Aqua Fresh, Citrus Lift and Cool Melon carry the most.
Competing smells. Old food, damp, gym or work gear, spills and general grime all fight the fragrance. A clean cabin makes a bigger difference than most people expect.
How do I bring the scent back up?
Lid off for a stronger release, lid on for something subtler. You control it, which is more than most fresheners give you.
Around week two or three, take the lid off and gently shake the gel until it moves inside the jar. That exposes fresh surface and lifts the scent again.
Crack a window occasionally to flush stale air out, and keep the car clean. Fragrance fighting old food, damp or gym gear just reads as a mess.
Why is it weaker in my SUV?
More cabin volume means the gel has to work a lot harder to fill the space, and more upholstery to absorb it along the way.
A tip we get from customers with larger vehicles: run two jars placed apart rather than one. It covers the cabin properly and the scent lasts longer, because neither jar is doing all the work.
Worth being mindful of what it's competing with too. Food, kids, spills and stains, work or gym gear in the back all pull against the fragrance in a big cabin.
Choosing your scent
Which one should I start with?
Aqua Fresh, Citrus Lift or Cool Melon. Our three most popular and the safest first pick. Tropical musk, citrus mint and watermelon mint respectively, all with real presence.
If you already know you want something quieter, skip to the next question.
Are they all the same strength?
Deliberately not. The range runs from distinct to subtle so you can pick what suits you rather than putting up with whatever the shelf had.
Most distinct: Cool Melon, Citrus Lift, Aqua Fresh, Berry Chill.
Refined and balanced: JDM Fizz, Grape Ice.
Subtle: Auto Aurora, Very Vanilla.
Where did Black Crush go?
Off the shelf while we rework it. The scent throw wasn't where we wanted it, so it's back in development rather than being sold as it was.
We don't have a timeframe on V2 yet. It comes back when it's right.
The product
What's actually in it?
A plant-based gel base with IFRA-compliant fragrance oils. IFRA is the International Fragrance Association, which sets global safety limits on fragrance ingredients.
Most fresheners list "fragrance" and leave it there. Three years of small-batch development went into ours, and every jar is made in-house in Melbourne.
Where is it made?
Melbourne, Australia. In-house, not outsourced offshore like most of what's on the shelf next to us.
It means we set the quality standard ourselves, and when a customer tells us something isn't right, we can actually change it. Black Crush is proof of that.
Will it leave residue or stain anything?
No. The gel is formulated to evaporate cleanly without leaving residue behind.
Is it going to overpower the car?
No, and that's the point of the format. Most fresheners dump their scent all at once, which is why they hit hardest on a hot day and leave you winding the window down. Our gel releases gradually, so what you get is a steadier, longer-lasting experience instead of a burst that fades.
The scents themselves are built the same way. Fresh and refined so they complement your interior rather than landing like a chemical punch to the nose. And if you want it quieter, leave the lid on.

Free on AU orders over $59, which means you can mix and match any four scents.
Do you ship outside Australia?
New Zealand, Canada and the United States are available at checkout. Australia is home and where our focus sits.
The scent I want is sold out.
Small batches made by hand in Melbourne means popular scents sell through. We'd rather run out than cut corners to keep shelves full.
They usually come back within a couple of weeks, so keep an eye out. Or get in touch and we'll let you know when yours lands.
