There may be a number of reasons and factors to why you can't seem to smell your air freshener's scent anymore.

Temperature and Humidity. On hot days off-gassing from interior plastics and materials with heat building up can displace the scent inside the cabin; that's why hot dry air hits us as we get in.

Our gel is designed to diffuse adaptively - activating as the cabin cools and dry hot air clears. Try briefly cracking the window down or putting the A/C on to get fresh scented airflow moving around the cabin.

Another common reason is Scent/Fragrance Fatigue, also known as Olfactory fatigue. It's when your body naturally becomes desensitised to the same smells / strong odours. Extended exposure prompts our olfactory (smell) receptors to adapt by reducing sensitivity to those smells. It's normal to get accustomed to the scent overtime, making the scent less noticeable.

Below are some additional steps you can take to improve the scent diffusion.

1. Shaking: Try shaking the gel around to introduce fresh air into the jar, this will assist in kick starting the scent again, you can also leave the lid off to allow access to more airflow.

2. Ventilation: Ensure that there is proper ventilation in your vehicle, as fresh airflow can help disperse the fragrance effectively. Stagnant air reduces the scent output.

3. Reposition: Try moving the air freshener to a different location in your vehicle, ensuring it has optimal and regular exposure to airflow. Large cars such as SUVs and Wagons have big cabins, therefore it may take some time to notice a change, you may find placing it at the front near an air vent will help circulate the scent and removing the lid.

4. Swapping: Try switching to a different scent. Every scent is comprised of different fragrance notes that may be more noticeable than others. For Example Cool Melon's tang and freshness can be more prominent than Very Vanilla's refined light sweetness. Or if the air freshener is simply old and shrunken, crack open another fresh one.
